Any recommendations on an email program that distributes to a subscriber list? I have been using one called Constant Contact for several years, but I'm not 100% sold on it. Just haven't found anything better and easy. Eventually I'd like to invest in one I can have on my server, but for now I just need something ready-to-go. The emails go to my clients, staff, and partners/sponsors.

I use mac mail and create a group (names blocked) and put clients into it for mass emailing. I find it easier and cheap since it comes with the computer. But then again I am pretty much self employed and create all the emails and just attach them. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.

I wonder why I hadn't thought of that. Will do today!
2Does it allow tracking?
3Glad I could help. Just make sure you go to mail preferences and go to composing and uncheck the box under addressing that says: "when sending to a group...." that will block others from seeing who is on the list.

I will make a suggestion to any and all who own a mac. Take $99.00 and buy a one to one membership. Good for 1 class/week (1 hr) with a mac guy. Ask what you want from basic (how to turn it on) to major programming (final cut pro).

I just use the "group" option in Outlook and then make sure to mark "Request receipt" for all the messages. I have to send out group emails once a month to about 500 agents, and it works outstandingly for me.

Yeah, I got that, too, Samantha. I also signed up a couple of my employees so that they can go. It's a great deal.
There are many things I miss about Outlook. To switch back would be a b*tch now. Just like switching servers and all that good shtuffs.
8I just got an email saying I might have an answer for this in mac mail - i will know tonight

Awww, Samantha. Thank you so much for going through all the hard work and process of busting out a folding table, hanging a 10 billion watt light bulb, draggin' in a wooden ass chair with a 5 min. comfort limit, and renting a vacant cement janitor's closet. You're awesome.
I've signed up for icontact temporarily. It's alright, but I still have to design the emails myself. The templates suck. Suck A$$! But the tracking is awesome. You can import lists, see results charted, even check to make sure employees have clicked on a link to download a piece of info. you ask them to review. Plus it's way cheaper than Constant Contact. Which was also cool and offered the same thing.
11Jen you forgot about the balloons. They were sooooo pretty and now i get to sit and pop each one. POP, POP, POP!
12iContact is for mac iAssume. If so you can create your emails in Keynote, indesign, quark, illustrator and export them as a GIF, EPS, Jpeg, PDF. And embed the whatever into the email. It will be exudes ooohs and aaaahs from your clients. I like Gifs the most since they auto open with the email.
