So, today is the day! Our national excuse to stuff our faces and belly!
I just woke up about 20 minutes ago to the wonderful aroma of my Mom cooking the ham and turkey. (yummy) This is one of my fave holidays because of the food and of course because of Black Friday. But, often times we forget about what this holiday really means. It's the time for us to reflect on what we are grateful and thankful for in our lives, to spend time with loved ones, and to cherish the early beginnings of this GREAT country.
So I will start, these are the things that I am extremely grateful for:
(not in any particular order)
1) GOD-without him nothing would be possible in my life.
2) My parents-I am very blessed to have them in my life. They have always supported me, always been there for me when I needed them, and they pay for my college tuition and car.
3) Our troops-They are either overseas or around our borders protecting our country. I am extremely indebted and grateful to all of them (we all are) for sacrificing their lives so that we could still live in freedom. This also extends out to one special Marine who is close to my heart: My boyfriend who is in Cali right now.
I miss him so much but I understand that he loves his job and this country more. That's what makes me fall in love with him even more.
hehe
4) My Extended family (mom's side)-I am very close to them. And when my Mom came here to America to make a better life for her and for me they took care of me while I was a baby in the Phillippines unti she came back and got me. Sometimes they annoy me
but in the end my life would NOT be the same without them.
5) My health-So far so good!
All I have to worry about is my eczema and food allergies to wheat and flour. Compare that to the other health problems in this country...I am very blessed.
6) My boyfriend (again)-He is my lover, my best friend and my hero.
He makes my life better and most importantly he taught me how to believe in LOVE again.
After 3 years he still makes me weak in the knees and I'm very grateful to have him in my life.
7) My 6 close girlfriends: My life without them wouldn't be the same. If I need to talk to someone at 3am they are always there for me. I can count on them to party with me, lend a shoulder to cry on, and go shopping with. We have been best friends for 14 years+ and I can't wait to grow old with them.
My friends that I have made here on Teamsugar. (Lookbook & Conservative Sugar) All of you are always so kind and you guys help me pass the time when I'm at work or in class.
There's much much more but I don't have enough time.
So I hope that everyone has a fantasic and full Thanksgiving. Be safe, enjoy your time with your family, and reflect on the fact that we are very blessed to be living in the USA and that there are alot of people who are less fortunate than us.
We are all blessed.
So Please come back and tell me what you are most thankful for whenever you get a chance. Even if you live in a different country and you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I know that everyone is thankful for something. It's a holiday that can both be celebrated and appreciated around the world. Have a GREAT day. xoxo

Happy happy blessed Thanksgiving!
1I agree.
We should all take a moment today to remember what it's really about.
Last night I passed by Publix and they have one of those Christmas tree with children who need Christmas gifts.
I selected a teenage girl named Heather.
This morning I started my Thanksgiving Day by shopping for Heather. I ran to K-mart and and grabbed her a couple things.
Tomorrow I'm hitting Kohl's and Ulta for her.
I think the three most beautiful things we can do this time of year is thank God, relish our loved ones, and give back.
Have a beautiful day!
Awwww that's wonderful Chanc!
I remember doing that last year and also people should consider feeding the homeless. My boyfriend and I will be doing it this year before Christmas.
2Thanks for starting this, Shop!
Chancleta, that's lovely, thanks for sharing.
One of our few family traditions is, when we sit down to the Thanksgiving meal, going around the table and everyone says what they're thankful for. (The little kids are entertaining!)
This year I think I'm most thankful that I have a union job, and have been in my classification at work for long enough to be pretty safe if cuts come. The state budget is bad, and I expect it to only get more challenging the next 3 - 5 years. Plus, my husband's in retail, although he's a good, stable, long-term employee so I'd be surprised if he had any significant cut in hours.

Hi All, Shop, this was a beautiful reminder to me. You should keep a copy of this post on your computer so when your older you can remember all these wonderful things in your life.
I am thankful for my husband and that he works hard for his family. I'm thankful for health and healthy kids. I'm thankful for a crazy loveable dog. I'm thankful for my relationship with my mom. I'm thankful that I have gotten to know many of you on Conservative sugar!
Happy Thanksgiving!
6Shop! thanks for the wonderful post and Happy Thanksgiving to you, Chan, Laine, Grandpa, Sam & Bren (so far!)
7Bren-I just added it to my favorites. Thanks for the idea.
8I am thankful that...1.I have a great and loving family who has always supported me. 2. I have a loving boyfriend who I always look forward to where the future takes us. 3. That i have a steady job and feel secure in, which I am very fortunate to have in our economic times. 4. That I am in Texas and that it's not freezing cold here today.
5. That I have a car that runs and that I feel safe in (This may sound silly, but it's truly
a relief not having to worry about car problems anymore). 6. My health (Shop - i recently went for celiac testing and I don't have it, but a lot of my family does so i know how hard it is to
avoid those gluten). 7. The health of my family, yes gluten-free living is hard, but there are many worse things they could be battling.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

12No, I don't have it. My aunt, who was my doctor at the time, said the main reason she could think of why my iron was so low is celiac. I don't have it, thank God, I was severely anemic.
13Well I'm happy you don't have it.
