It started out early Sunday morning, as both kids had nightmares and just had to sleep near daddy. I make a big fuss to my wife and act like I feel they should be outgrowing this, but I love
it when they snuggle. My wife let us sleep in, although it was only 30 minutes. We went to church, and then I grabbed a quick snack and headed out to call for my preformance.
For warm-ups, the group sang happy birthday to me. The show itself was almost awful. We were missing lines and other cues left and right. The musicians couldn't seem to keep track of what
song we were playing next, and the dancers had trouble keeping their skirts on (OK, that was nice). The director(s) blamed it on being tired, and told everyone to get lots of rest this week,
and we'd do better on Friday. The cast then went out to the Ground Round to get a good steak, and a couple people bought rounds for me. When I got home, the kids were still awake, but just
getting ready to head to bed, so I got to tuck them in, and sing them some songs. Shortly after the kids were asleep, I retired as well. Not an overly exciting birthday, but still a good one.
Come on Dave, you know you love it. Enjoy it as long as you can. It could be worse, every now and then my granddaughter (she just turned 13 a week ago)will have "a bad dream' and come inti
our bedroom, she ends up in bed next to grandma, and I end up on the couch. Her younger sister, has never come to us.
